Operating Room Registered Nurse – No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays

Mid to Lower Manhattan, NYC

\n

\n

A growing outpatient surgery center is adding an experienced Operating Room RN to its team following a nearly 74% increase in monthly surgical volume.

\n

\n

The center specializes in ENT and ophthalmology outpatient procedures and offers an opportunity for an OR nurse to work in a busy, growing surgical environment while enjoying a schedule and culture that are difficult to find in traditional hospital settings.

\n

\n

Schedule:

\n

\n

\n
• Monday through Friday
\n
• Flexible scheduling: 5 eight-hour shifts, 4 ten-hour shifts
\n
• No call
\n
• No weekends
\n
• No holidays
\n
• Surgical schedule is known approximately two weeks in advance
\n
• Staggered start times, typically 6:30 AM, 7:30 AM or after 8:00 AM
\n
• Employees leave by 5:00 PM at the latest
\n
• Guaranteed 40 hours available for candidates who want them
\n

Leadership understands that employees have responsibilities outside of work and is willing to work with employees who have appointments, need to pick up their children or occasionally need schedule flexibility.

Experience:

\n

\n

\n
• The ideal candidate will have Operating Room experience, preferably in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center.
\n
• ENT and/or ophthalmology experience is preferred, but candidates with broader OR experience are encouraged to apply.
\n
• The team is looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced surgical environment, works well with others and takes pride in providing high-quality patient care.
\n
• We have Surg Techs on staff, so you will only circulate.
\n

• You will be joining a team with a strong leadership structure, including an Administrator, Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinators for both the OR and PACU, and an OR Business Manager.
\n

• Recently, the team held a bowling night where the winning team was supposed to receive two extra PTO days. The Administrator ultimately gave everyone the two additional PTO days.

• When cases finish early on a Friday, leadership may allow the entire team to leave early while still paying everyone for their full scheduled hours.
\n
